The food here was very average, and honestly, my expectations were much higher. The restaurant is listed as a Michelin destination (although I’m not sure if that’s accurate), so I was expecting a much more memorable dining experience. Here’s what I ordered: Caesar Salad: 2/10 – Overloaded with mayonnaise and lacking flavor. I didn’t even eat it. Beef Fat Fried Rice: 7.5/10 – The concept is great, but I felt the quality of the beef could have been better. Unfortunately, the service also fell short. The server didn’t speak English, which made communication difficult, and we had to call her over whenever we needed something, as she rarely checked on our table. I don’t think I’ll be coming back. The experience simply didn’t live up to my expectations. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿600–800 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Thyme Café & Brunch is a fantastic spot for anyone visiting Phuket Old Town, especially if you’re looking for quality halal food. One of its biggest highlights is that it serves all-day halal brunch, and it’s also recognised by the Michelin Guide, making it an easy choice for Muslim travellers. As an avid traveller, I noticed a huge improvement compared to my previous visit to Phuket, when halal dining options were still quite limited. It’s great to see more well-known cafés offering halal food, giving Muslim visitors more confidence and convenience when exploring the city. The café itself has a classy and cosy ambiance. Located on the upper floor, it offers a lovely view overlooking one of the busy intersections in Phuket Old Town, making it a nice place to relax while enjoying your meal. The food portions are generous and reasonably priced. I ordered the fish curry, which was delicious and full of flavour, although it turned out to be much spicier than I expected. If you’re not used to spicy food like me, I’d recommend asking for a less spicy version. Aside from that, everything was enjoyable, and the quality of the food was excellent. Overall, I highly recommend Thyme Café & Brunch for its delicious halal food, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent location. It’s definitely a café I’d return to on my next visit to Phuket. Loved the food and ambience at THYME Cafe & Brunch (Halal). The cafe has such a cozy aesthetic vibe, friendly staff, and the food was genuinely delicious. Their beef dishes and coffee were especially good. Definitely one of the best halal spots in Phuket Old Town — perfect place to chill and take photos too!
