This was a wonderful stop on our visit. There is a view over the town to the ocean and islands beyond, and the green hills above. The garden in front is beautiful, with a little room to wander. A nice old house (might be 100 years old?) that has been nicely restored. The owner was very kind. The drinks (tea, and homemade Ume Soda) and snacks were delicious. From the upstairs window, we could see and hear the cheers and celebration drifting up from the school down the way. We also learned that Sosuke and Ponyo's house in Studio Ghibli's “Ponyo” was modeled after the house just up the road. A wonderful stop. I definitely recommend a visit. This place was magical, so old and so modern, so quiet and so alive. We enjoyed drink surrounded by beautiful Japanese garden and beautiful tomo ocean view from up stairs. Highly recommend to foreign visitors to drop by this hidden gem. Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
