Title: Tasty Brisket, Vintage Atmosphere, Pleasant Tunes. Before the heavy rain hit, I decided to visit Tumu Smoke Haus, fueled by curiosity. At first glance, Tumu didn't resemble a typical restaurant. The walls were adorned with big stickers that read 'Come Joint the GVNG...' This led me to consistently mistake Tumu for a weed shop, which I found amusing. In any case, today the truth was unveiled - Tumu was not merely a restaurant, but a great one at that. The server introduced me to their signature dish - the brisket, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes. The brisket arrived promptly, about 10 minutes later. The plate held two slices of perfectly cooked brisket, garnished with pickles and accompanied by two dipping sauces. One was a spicy Thai-style dip, while the other was a steak dip. The Thai-style dip was undeniably spicy and had a strong fishy flavor that proved a bit overwhelming for my palate. Now, about the brisket. It was cooked perfectly with a smoky flavor, and it was super juicy. It wasn't burnt like the brisket I usually have in New York. The only thing I didn't like was a big piece of fat attached to one slice, almost half the size of the brisket. It would've been better without that fat even though it was tasty! ^^ The rest of the dish was great too. The mashed potatoes were topped with cheese and crispy bacon bits, which made them extra tasty. The place had a cool vibe with an old stereo playing music from the '60s. So, to sum up, Tumu's brisket was really good. And it's pretty cool to find a BBQ place like this in Thailand. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿500–600 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
