We are very loyal customer of pizza express. Tonight, we decided to go to Holland Village's outlet. The restaurant was full when we arrived. Ok, no problems! The hostess suggested to put our name and phone number on a waiting list and call us when a table would be free. There was only a couple was in front of us, and a group of 6 was about to finish. The hostess mentioned we could wait up to 30 minutes, which was no problem. 45 mins later, still no call. We decide to go back to the restaurant and assess the situation. The hostess saw us and as we entered, realised she forgot to call us and gave our table to another group. Mistake happens, but it wasn't possible to give us another table and the second floor was still closed and couldn't be made available for us. They asked us to wait again, another 15-30 minutes. It was already pas 8pm, so we went to another nearby pizza place. We love the food at pizza express and the service quality has been acceptable in other outlets. I really wish this situation could have been avoided and we could have enjoyed our evening.
