Bone marrow was rich, buttery, creamy, and deeply savory (umami), with nutty hints and a subtle sweetness, melting in the mouth like a rich, savory butter on toast or steak Steak had various selections although most are corn fed and grain fed. There was only one grass fed beef cubes in the Chinese menu, it was so much better than the grain fed or corn Fed beef

To the Management of The American Club I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the treatment my family and I received at the 2nd floor restaurant last month. Here’s exactly what happened: • On my first visit, I was denied entry because I was wearing Bermuda shorts. Fine—I respected the rule, went back home, and returned another day properly dressed in pants. • On that second visit, I saw a lady wearing shorts walk straight into the restaurant with no issue. • My family and I were shocked at this blatant double standard. When we approached the same manager who had previously denied me entry, instead of showing any empathy or professionalism, he was rude, dismissive, and condescending. Instead of acknowledging the inconsistency, he doubled down and insisted we were at fault, saying I should have borrowed the “alternative pants” from the Club the first time. Let’s be very clear: • The issue was never about the past incident. • The real problem was his tone, his lack of empathy, and his outright disrespect to my grandmother—a member of The American Club for over 50 years. To treat a loyal, long-standing member’s family with such arrogance is unacceptable. My family walked away upset, insulted, and questioning whether the Club still values its members the way it once did. I demand that The American Club take this matter seriously and review both the double-standard enforcement of dress code and the manager’s behavior. No member—let alone one with half a century of loyalty—deserves to be spoken down to in that way. This experience was not just disappointing. It was disrespectful, hypocritical, and damaging to the Club’s reputation. I expect a proper response and action taken. Price per person: SGD 40–50 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
