I’ve been to the brass monkey many times over the years and I keep coming back for the sirloin steak. It’s usually on special on Wednesday. It’s a good size portion, and the chef knows what medium-well means. Service is good and prices are ok for me. I’m a happy hour seeker and they have a decent deal on beer until 8pm. The negative for me is it’s a noisy place typically with several sports on the TVs simultaneously. There was someone singing on the Wednesday I was there for dinner. I finished the evening outside with my beer and a cigar If you’re into western sports and like a busy noisy atmosphere then this is a fine place to catch important games (soccer, rugby etc.) Their webpage lists all the weekly specials they have; too numerous for me to remember. I’m glad to see they survived COVID; they stayed open and I really appreciate I could get my steak. It was a bit lonely in there for a while. Anyway, a good bar atmosphere with good food and probably the largest number of foreigners in Taipei in one place any night of the week.
