10:41The Consul's Garden has a stunning location that immediately catches your eye and sets high expectations. The setting is beautiful and atmospheric, the kind of place where you walk in and think you have found a real gem. The drinks were good and well prepared, and the service was genuinely excellent with attentive and friendly staff that made us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. Unfortunately the food did not live up to what the rest of the experience promised. Given such an impressive location and the overall quality of service, we expected the kitchen to match that same standard. Instead the food was honestly disappointing and fell well below what you would anticipate from a place like this. It felt like a missed opportunity because everything else was so well done that a strong food offering would have made this an easy five star experience. That is really the frustrating part about The Consul's Garden. The location is there, the service is there, the drinks are there, but the one thing that should be at the heart of any restaurant just does not deliver. We had high hopes based on the ambiance and left feeling let down by what ended up on our plates. If they manage to bring the food quality up to the level of everything else they offer, this place would be an absolute standout in Chiang Mai. Until then three stars, because a great location and good service can only carry you so far when the food does not hold up its end.
