This is a very specific experience for those of you who are seriously into coffee, and espresso specifically. Visit the HQ of Decent Espresso, have a great cup of coffee with a view, and explore the factory floor for a behind the scenes look at how your current or future espresso machine is made. Tip 1 they have an odd membership system that costs $1.50 to join (online, credit card) but you get a cup of coffee for joining! Tip 2: it's hard to find. Go to the central elevator of the building and make your way to the 21st floor. If it feels like you took a wrong turn into an industrial complex you're probably in the right place. Such an incredible experience. Easily top coffee experience in the whole world. If you're debating going to the factory, stop thinking and just go. while vacationing in Hong Kong, I visited the Factory Cafe at Decent Espresso. We arrived early in the morning around 9:45am on a Friday morning. Paul was there to greet us. After he checked us in, Paul began an elaborate presentation to show what the Decent machine can do. Although I have had my own Decent DE1Pro 1.3 for 4 years now, I learned so much from Paul on beans, grinds, new brewing programs that are developed by Decent and its community recently. The Filter3 brew of drip coffee (with a programmable espresso machine!) and the adaptive profiles produced amazing tastes that matched what Paul described just a couple minutes ago. That shows the consistency of the Decent machine can produce and reproduce, and Paul’s deep and wide knowledge of coffee and the machine, and most importantly Paul’s contagious passion in coffee, teaching, and presenting. We were there over an hour and felt like it was just 15 minutes. I am not easily impressed. This was an amazing experience. There are lots of things and places to see in Hong Kong. But if you love coffee or making your own coffee, there are no better place to visit than the Factory Cafe at Decent Espresso and no better person to show you how to do it right than Paul.
