The Salty Dog is a great beer bar and a natural meeting spot in Thong Sala, Koh Phangan. The location is excellent, with good connections around the island and easy boat access to other islands, making it a perfect place to hang out and meet people. They have a proper pool table to pass the time and food to keep you going. Rumor has it that the Swedish owner recently bought a pizza oven and has already learned how to make a proper Swedish Capricciosa at a fair price. Definitely worth trying. Another big advantage is that the owner has good contacts with reliable moped and bungalow rental places. Order a beer and a pizza and you might get some useful insider tips. You get to choose the music yourself, but be mindful of the vibe in the bar to keep the relaxed atmosphere going. Great experience twice visiting here. Good music, relaxed with good drinks. Recommend. Owner is friendly and we enjoyed time here.

Very rude owner! I stopped here after a long trip. I had a suitcase with me and just needed to wait about 5 minutes for my husband, who was coming on a bike. I sat down for a moment so I didn’t have to stand in the hot sun. The bar was completely empty. The owner asked if I wanted to order something. I politely said no and thanked him. He immediately looked annoyed. I asked if I could just wait for 5 minutes. He didn’t look happy but didn’t say much. After about 3 minutes he came back and told me my time was over and that I had to leave. It felt very strange, like he was worried I might sit for free in his empty bar. Honestly, it was a very uncomfortable experience. I would not recommend this place. This is not how you treat people, especially on a friendly island like Phangan. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This person clearly states that she wasn't a customer. Yet she puts 1 on our food. We asked her to leave because she had no intention to Be a customer.
