Old school style canteen. Good memories of such local eateries (vs chain outlets). Located under a beautiful HDB apartment block. Yummy chicken cutlet rice. The sambal (chilli) is very addictive. Highly satisfying. They also serve traditional Chinese desserts (hot & iced) and the usual coffee/tea. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a must try dessert shop. Whilst it’s called The Green Bean Shop, I’ve not tried their Green Bean Soup yet as I’m more of a cold local deserts fella. So far I’ve tried their Chin Chow (Grass Jelly) with Longan, Ice Kacang, Cold Cheng Tng and that have been superb and damn delicious! Only thing that is rather unique from other places is that they like to put big ice pieces instead of shredded ice into some of their cold deserts. Maybe they feel that would slow down the ice melting process. Go figure!
