Stopped by The Hainan Story Chapter Two for an afternoon tea session, but the experience turned out quite average overall. While the retro-themed interior and wide display of bakes look inviting from the outside, the items we ordered fell short of expectations. Hot Milo: Served with a nice layer of froth on top, but the taste was distinctly watered down and lacked the rich, malty chocolate depth you would expect. Traditional Toast: Decently toasted with a good crunch, though fairly standard and unremarkable. Egg Tart: The pastry crust held together well, but the custard filling was rather bland and lacked richness or noticeable egg aroma. The main dishes passing by our table seemed substantially more appetising than the tea-time selections. Unless you are dropping in for a proper hot meal, the tea and light bite options are skippable given the average execution. Very disappointing experience at The Hainan Story Chapter Two in Changi Airport. The food was just okay, but the tables were dirty and the staff were not very friendly. My “ice cold” drink came out room temperature, which was really unpleasant. The menu also lacked details, so we weren’t even able to order the afternoon tea set we had wanted to try. Overall, not worth the stop. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
