There should be no smoking area outside as the puffs from dragons will get blown away and onto guests on the top deck.

I guess there are better BBQ places in Bangkok, but this is close enough from Khao San and just at the riverside. Awesome atmosphere and loads of stuff to grill, get a basket of crabs and prawns!
