Perched on a hill in Yongsan-gu, The Xef is run by a Catalan chef who also caters for the Spanish Embassy in Seoul—and that pedigree is evident in every single bite. We started the evening with classic Spanish tapas: aceitunas, sangría, and croquetas. (The croquetas were so delicious that we couldn't resist ordering a second round) Next came the Fideuá de Marisco—a pan heaped with mussels, clams, and prawns nestled into deeply savory toasted noodles and complemented by alioli. For dessert, we enjoyed the Crema Catalana: a silky custard crowned with a crisp caramelized crust and garnished with fresh strawberries. The flavors, the red tablecloths, the lively music, and above all, the hospitality of the chef's wife—who acts as the maître d’ of the house—all conspired to make us feel like we were back in Spain. For anyone seeking a genuine Spanish dining experience in Seoul, this place is the real deal. We will definitely be back Price per person: ₩50,000–60,000
