During our 6 week stay in Yeonnam-dong this summer, The Mok was easily our favorite restaurant. We enjoyed 4 delicious meals here, and had another dinner as take out. Once we went with special guests we wanted to treat to a lovely lunch, once we went with a fussy baby in tow – and each time we enjoyed incredible food and impeccable service. The spicy seafood pasta, rack of lamb, and pulled pork pasta were all highlights. This place is heaven for foodies, as it’s owned and operated by a chef who trained in Singapore at a Michelin-started restaurant, and there is international flair in each dish – each entree felt influenced by multiple cuisines. But the food was also comfortable, approachable, and not pretentious. We loved the cozy but sophisticated atmosphere, the location in the heart of Yeonnam-dong, and the way we were greeted each time as if we were old friends. We recommended The Mok to relatives who live in Seoul as well as to several relatives who will visit Seoul in the coming months. Next time we’re in the city, The Mok will be the first restaurant we want to return to!
