Tried it for the 1st time today. Had the $4.5 white chicken tight rice. Rice wasn’t that oily or too flavourful. Tasted slightly dry, but acceptable. Chicken however was fairly decent. Chilli is abit spicy, ginger note isn’t that pronounced to me. Soup is sweet with veg taste. Not too much on MSG. Dark sauce isn’t the chicken rice type, dark/caramel like, slightly sweet and salty. It’s the soon kueh type of sweet dark sauce. Not sure if the chef/owner made a mistake or it’s his way of dark sauce. So this doesn’t resonate well to my palette. I ordered steamed chicken rice but was served roasted chicken rice instead. The stall owner was unfriendly and used a rude tone, telling me to wait for two minutes while he settled the food for delivery. However, it took about ten minutes. The chicken rice lacked the aroma of other chicken rice, and the chicken was quite ordinary. The only redeeming feature was the generous portion of meat for the $4.50 option, and the soup was quite nice. I usually add dark soy sauce to my chicken rice, but the provided sauce was sweet and used for steamed kuehs. The atmosphere was typical of a hawker centre – hot and humid unless you chose a good spot to sit. Overall, it’s just an average chicken rice and won’t make you rush back. Uncle is friendly a nice but this is the worse chicken breast rice I ever eat. My wife order thigh I order breast. Both really bad to the extend we got to force ourselves to finish it. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
