Food - the dishes were done well by the lady chef on duty. On a Friday night, I would expect the main chef Yuta to be there. We were seated but didnt get any written menu breakdown nor a welcome note as published in other reviews. I cannot understand the broccoli and tofu dish as the companiments didnt complement. Chicken parts were nice and juicy, the gizzards were too cooked, the rice did not get enough of smoke from the burnt binchotan and was too soft and wet for a claypot dish. The ending chazuke was a good clean as recommended by staff. Service - Texted in advance to the staff if the main chef will be there but no reply for that particular message. service was lacklustre as staff didnt really know what to do and mainly was on cue by the main service staff and chef. Not enough manpower but split us out from the main group as they could have joined together for better servicing. However I do feel that maybe if their system is more efficient, they could have handled it better. One obvious was the chef was overwhelmed. We had to wait quite some time maybe 10 to 20mins for our next dish. By the time we reached half the menu, we were already quite full. Good thing is they are full for the night, at least manpower can be fully utilised. Atmosphere - fumes everywhere, when we left the whole place already almost like Genting. At the start the fumes are already coming out from the holes from the ceiling partitions, the exhaust was not really taking in all the smoke. Reminds me of Yakitori One.Its nice to have the smell of binchotan but its just too much smoke. And I wonder if using binchotan generates so much smoke anyway unless its fats and juices from the meat but we had heart and gizzards and the smoke is still unbearing.

About main chef, since we re-opend from 13th April 2026, we started with new chef and crews. Our new head chef, Ms. Tsuru, she worked at Tokyo and Fukuoka branch as Yakishi, and she take over the roll of head chef at Singapore I understand that you expected our previous head chef but also we are confident in her skills. About service, I apologize about your experience. We have only one omakase course and we strive to provide each product at a pace that suits our customers. We will strive to provide all customers with satisfactory service. About exhaust, we will contact to maintanance team and will sort it out. Once again I apologize about your experience with us. I’ve been to Torikami in Tokyo before and was very impressed by the quality of their food and hospitality. In Singapore, I could have the same or even better experience at Torikami Singapore! Torikami’s yakitori is very juicy and you can feel a pleasant charcoal smell. Also, I love their delicious rice cooked in a clay pot! No doubt, their service is excellent. And by the way, they have such a nice Japanese toilet! You can experience Japanese high quality in Singapore. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I'm a fan of all the Torishiki branches and so excited to have Torikami in Singapore. The set tasting menu has a bit of everything. While most skewers are straight forward and done to perfection other dishes displayed some creativity. On the day I visited I didn't have my usual stomach capacity and was stuffed by the time rice was served. However I did notice that there was no indication that extra skewers were offered or available. I hope that's not the case because I would love to enjoy all that I can on my next visit. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
