Great breakfast. Had the sausage, hash, omelet, and the True Breakfast sandwich. Very delicious. Easy to find on street level. But get there early if you want a seat. Opened at 0800, packed by 0820. Staff was very nice and professional Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Missing a piece of Taiwan where simple, hot piping breakfast and yummy local street food are within easy reach of our accommodation, we make our way to True Breakfast Capitol 初早餐 for a quick fix. An outward-facing Taiwanese eatery @Capitol Singapore, TBC serves traditional Taiwanese dishes with a mod twist. It's petite-sized yet feels reasonably spacious for a drink/dessert, light bites or quick meal. Large glass panels brighten up the space. Food is prepared hot on the spot, served fast and has the Taiwan hometown flavor! For beverages, one can choose the sugar level % to suit personal preference. We like the lovely tea fragrance and balanced sweetness, albeit 25% for Hot Milk Tea and 50% for the Iced one The portion size of Taiwanese Chicken Chop Rice is rather big, sufficient for two persons with light appetites. The well-seasoned, perfectly cooked chicken is deliciously tasty, tender and juicy. Refreshing pickled cucumber cubes up the overall palatability. We also enjoy TBC's version of scallion pancake - crispy, flavorful and tastes delicious with their special sauce. The add-on sausages are decent. Whoa, the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken comes in surprisingly large portion size...very crispylicious! It's delightful biting into the marshmallows sitting on a thick slice of lightly toasted white bread, slathered with Nutella...delectable It's a simple, true Taiwanese fare in an unpretentious and homey atmosphere. The environment is neat & calm, service thoughtful & prompt. We're so filled up that we skip dinner altogether! Can't wait to return and try its Braised Pork Rice, Orh Ah (Oyster) Mee Sua, and Soy Bean Milk next time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Other Price per person: $20–30
