I stopped by Tsai-Ji Tofu Pudding after dinner to try a traditional Taiwanese dessert. The menu was available in English, and the main specialties are tofu pudding and grass jelly. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Before ordering, I was even offered a small taste of the grass jelly so I could decide whether I liked it. I really appreciated this very customer-oriented and warm approach. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, just as you would expect from a traditional local dessert shop. You order and pay directly at the counter, and the dessert is then brought to your table. I tried both the tofu pudding and the grass jelly, and I really enjoyed both. Interestingly, neither dessert was particularly sweet, which I actually liked. The flavors were subtle and refreshing rather than overly sugary. Payment was cash only, but the prices were very reasonable and the value for money was good. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend Tsai-Ji Tofu Pudding if you want to try a traditional Taiwanese dessert in a relaxed local setting.
