If I were Gordon Ramsay, I would have shouted at the management, the servers, and the kitchen team at Steak Tua Nam. Nothing seemed to function properly the evening I visited, and it wasn’t just my table — the tension and frustration affected the entire atmosphere, both inside and outside the restaurant, where guests waited far too long to be served or to collect takeaway orders. The menu is far too extensive for the kitchen’s capabilities, and the execution simply doesn’t match the ambition. Originally started as a burger restaurant, it may once have been run well by the owner alone, but as the business has expanded, it’s clear that the new operational demands have not been met. The staff struggled to take orders correctly, the kitchen could not keep up or organize the workflow, and every piece of meat we received was overcooked, dry, and tough. Despite this, I felt genuine sympathy for the owner, who was clearly working extremely hard to produce even a fraction of the many dishes on the menu. She was doing her absolute best while the rest of the staff waited passively for something—anything—to be completed so they could serve it. This is not a tourist trap; it is a well-intentioned restaurant facing serious growing pains. If the owner wants the restaurant to survive and regain its potential, investment in trained staff and stronger management support is essential. The prices are reasonable, but I ended up spending more on beer than on food simply because the waiting times were so long.
