Peanut Ice Cream: 4.5 stars Soft-serve style ice cream with some toasted caramelised peanuts and cookie crumble as well as boiled peanuts — could have omitted the boiled peanuts. Peanut Sand: 2.5 stars Texture a bit too dry… it’s decent when eaten with the ice cream but honestly the ice cream is better on its own

While exploring Udo Island, I couldn’t miss trying Udo Sand (우도샌드) — one of the island’s most talked-about sweet treats. Udo is well known for its peanuts, and this dessert cleverly showcases that local specialty. Udo Sand is essentially a crisp, buttery cookie sandwich filled with a rich peanut cream. The biscuit layers are light and slightly crumbly, while the filling is smooth, nutty, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the roasted peanut fragrance, which gives it a distinct flavour compared to regular cookie sandwiches. It’s simple, but that’s part of its charm — easy to carry, easy to snack on, and perfect as a small treat while walking around the island. Many visitors buy extra boxes as souvenirs since it represents Udo’s signature ingredient. Is it mind-blowing? Not necessarily.
