How did I get so lucky to find this restaurant in Chiang Dao. I have been travelling for a month and this is one of my favourite meals aside from local Thai food. The Japanese with Thai fusion is insanely good. The dishes are unique, delicious favours and perfectly seasoned.This is a great place for a lovely evening taking in all the sounds of nature whilst you dine. I have photographed the dishes we shared and enjoyed. Even the beer came out in frosty cold glasses. Try the Bingsu Mango Yuzu dessert too. Sweet and light. We are here in low season but I imagine it’ll be so busy in high season so maybe book. There is also a lovely view across the mountain valley too. Lovely spot their menu looked amazing. I got the yuzu cheesecake which was good! Very kind friendly staff and service. I got the yuzu soda with my meal and asked for light sweetness and it was still SO sugary so if you’re not used to sweetness order zero! Decent view and nice bar top seating outside they also take Visa credit card with 3%. Overall great experience. I wish I had ordered the soba noodle salad, I ordered a pork dish and the pork wasnt the most edible for me I mainly ate the breaded part around it. It came with kimchi and miso soup which were really yummy! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wonderful experience at Velar, beautiful restaurant with stunning views of the mountains. We enjoyed Shabu Shabu - delicious hot pot with various vegetables & meat. The service was great & very kind & helpful staff. Definitely worth eating here if you are visiting Chiang Dao! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
