Had a really wonderful stay at Valentier Cafe and Hotel. I previously lived in Chiang Mai, and travelled there many times, and this is the best guesthouse I've stayed at. The rooms are great, decent size, comfortable bed, good aircon, very clean, TV with Netflix (although I didn't have time to try it), wifi, fridge, water provided, and I can concur with the other review that mentioned the shower - it can be hard to find good showers in SE Asia and this was the best I've found, good pressure and size. Better than my shower at home in Australia! The pool is very nice and clean, and good temperature to cool off on a hot day. The place is also very secure as you can only get in by swiping your key at night. Location in the Old City is excellent, many restaurants and cafes nearby and a short walk to places like the Sunday walking street and many of the temples, but the room was also exceptionally quiet given the location. Chai and his father who run the place are both really kind people, as was the cleaner working there, and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating and ensure I had a good stay. I initially booked for two nights but ended up extending for the rest of my stay. Really great value for money, with little extras I would not expect for the price. Highly recommend and I will definitely return next time I'm in Chiang Mai. Service: 5
