This place is claimed to be a Jay restaurant, looks like fully vegan menu with the exception of egg tofu in a couple dishes. Located in a private home in a residential neighborhood of Hua Hin, with just a few outdoor seating tables. Seems this restaurant targets foreigners and not local Thais, flavors very much feel like adjusted to western palate rather than authentic Thai. Prices are also higher than your typical Jay restaurant, again targeting tourists. I had breakfast there this morning, noodle soup and papaya salad, both felt mediocre. It’s ok, but certainly not great. If you are in the area, give it a try, but I feel there are better places in town for vegetarian and vegan food. Hole in the wall, quirky atmosphere, very vegan friendly. She has two menus - one with animal products and the other is “Jai”, which means vegan and also excludes onions and garlic. Food is delicious. We ordered everything off the vegan menu and had the eggrolls, mock duck noodle soup, “pork” leg with rice, papaya salad, mee krob, and a few of her homemade chips. Kids enjoyed their meals, as did we. She makes everything from scratch so it takes a little bit of time. But totally worth the wait and I love supporting these small businesses. Such amazing food and amazing authentic Thai experience. This great little restaurant is like being invited in to someone’s home for a tasty home cooked meal. It’s a quirky little space, colorful decor and hidden away from the main drag. The food takes time because she makes everything from scratch, nothing is prepared before so it is insanely fresh. Everything is vegetarian but sooooo good. I am not sure how she was able to make “roast duck” soup that tasted so real but is all vegetarian. Can’t wait to go back again!
