The dim sums are great value for money. I particularly enjoyed har gau, prawn cheong fun and congee with preserved eggs and chicken. They are of good quality and are well prepared. The staff are mainly elderly people who are very attentive. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Popped by for casual dim sum brunch over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the simple and good comfort fare and welcoming staff. For Mother's Day, complimentary buns were thoughtfully provided. What a nice touch to top it all off!

I used to visit Victor's Kitchen at Sunshine Plaza and enjoyed the dim sum there. So I was glad when I saw that they have a branch at Chinatown Point when I visited recently. However, the menu isn't as extensive as I remember. There's no har gow (shrimp dumplings) for example. The food standard has also dropped. I found lumpy salted egg yolk in my lava buns and the char siew chee cheong fun was mushy, not silky. The recommended crystal dumplings fell short of expectation with the chunky filling which included nuts. Service was brisk though, so we didn't have to wait long for each dish to be served. Overall, this is not a dim sum place you'll want to linger for a leisurely weekend brunch.
