Washoku Sato Takeda Branch (和食さと 竹田店) gave us such a satisfying Japanese-style meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented and came out piping hot. The set came with a rich, comforting miso soup full of vegetables and tofu skin, the kind of soup that really warms you up. The corn croquette was a nice surprise – super crispy outside and creamy, sweet and savory inside, very addictive. The pork katsu plate was perfectly fried: light, crunchy coating, juicy meat, and a thick sauce that matched well with the shredded cabbage and fresh tomato. We also tried a grilled pork rice bowl topped with sesame and onions – smoky, tender and full of flavor – and a bowl of udon with meatballs and greens, with a clear but tasty broth. The grilled fish collar with grated radish was simple but delicious, with crispy skin and juicy meat. The small roast beef rice bowl with raw egg yolk on top was another highlight: soft beef, glossy egg and rice all mixing into a rich, satisfying bite. The kitsune udon with fried tofu was gentle and comforting. Overall, Washoku Sato Takeda offers great variety, generous portions and very good value. It’s a comfortable place to enjoy classic Japanese dishes with family or friends, and I’d be happy to come back again. Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
