Very disappointing and absolutely not worth the money We visited Waterfall Festival on Koh Phangan on August 26, 2026, two days before the Full Moon Party. We paid 8,000 RUB / approx. $93 / €80 / ฿3,050 for two regular tickets. The advertising promised 4 stages, different music styles, fire & laser shows, waterfalls, chill zones, a natural swimming pool, panoramic views and music until sunrise. The reality was very different. There were several stages, but neither my husband nor I enjoyed the music at any of them. The stage with the biggest crowd eventually closed and the DJ left. The other stages had music that was extremely difficult to enjoy. The advertised “natural swimming pool” was basically a dirty puddle that didn’t look suitable for swimming. The fire show was particularly disappointing — it looked like something from the early 2000s. Very basic, not impressive, and some performances looked questionable from a safety perspective. The venue is huge and mountainous, so moving between stages means a lot of walking up extremely steep paths. After a few drinks, this becomes exhausting. The games area was also disappointing: the air hockey table was broken, and beer pong was basically self-organised. Much of the furniture looked old and shabby. One small drink was included: a vodka cocktail, gin & tonic, or Singha beer (0.25 or 0.33 L). Also, at the entrance you may be offered UV face painting for ฿700 / about $21 / €18. The paint only glows at the entrance because that’s where the UV lighting is. There is no similar lighting around the festival, so the effect is basically pointless afterwards. There were also many guests who appeared extremely intoxicated, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable for us. Transportation is another issue. We paid ฿200 / $6.07 / €5.21 per person to get there, but ฿300 / $9.10 / €7.82 to return. That’s ฿1,000 / about $30 / €26 for two people round trip, plus a long wait for the taxi to fill up. The only real positive was the surprisingly clean toilets. We had regular tickets, and I would definitely not spend extra on VIP based on what we experienced. Overall, the biggest problem is the gap between the advertising and reality. The concept sounds amazing, but the actual festival felt poorly maintained, underwhelming and overpriced. Would we go again? No. Would we recommend it? Definitely not.
