Was looking for a quick drink before heading to dinner. Arrived to the wine bar around 17h30, but the door was shut. The bar worker arrived shortly after and let us in. I can see the vibe the bar was going for, but it fell short in my opinion. We sat down and ordered a cocktail and glasses of wine. We were offered several options of wine/whiskey/champagne (no menu), depending on what we requested. When asked about the wine options, we weren’t given much explanation besides signaling out which ones were dry. Highlight of the experience was the cut up orange that was offered to us as a light bite. The bill ended up being ~ 13,000 yen for 1 cocktail and 3 glasses of wine. A definite skip, as there appears to be much better options for better value in the area. Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We came across this bar while visiting Kyoto. Since we weren’t familiar with the good spots around, we decided to give it a try because it looked decent from the outside. When we walked in, the bartender didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming, he just looked at us and continued cleaning glasses. He mentioned there was no menu and told us to just describe the type of drink we wanted. I didn’t think much of it at the time and assumed the prices would be reasonable, especially for wine. The bottles he showed me weren’t even high end ones, so I didn’t expect anything unusual. However, when the bill came, I was really surprised, it was around ¥7000 (about $70) for just two glasses of wine. Back home, that’s definitely not what a glass of wine costs! So just a heads up for anyone visiting this place, be careful and make sure to ask about prices first. Price per person: ¥7,000–8,000 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
