I have been a long time shopper to the Nim City Wine Connection. However, the manager there has a bad practice of posting a price at the bottle bin that is lower than the actual price. The first time this happened to me, I shrugged it off as a mistake. The second time (about 2 months ago) I found it rather indicative of bad management. But the third time (today), it was clearly a scam.
I brought the bottle to the register (only the manager was working today) he rang up the price as 649THB. When I turned around to grab the printed sign in front of the stack of bottles that clearly marked them at 549THB, he said: "I know. But the real price is 649"
Obviously, the store is skimming off money from their customers. If you do need a bottle of wine (and Rimping next door does not have what you want) then make sure you double-check the prices at the register.
I hope that this practice is limited to only the Nim City location. I like Wine Connection and I am hoping to shop their again some day.
