Yesterday, I had the chance to revisit Yoru for the second time. My first visit was so memorable that I simply had to come back—I really missed their food! My second visit did not disappoint. I loved every dish and side they served. I 100% recommend visiting Yoru. The food is delicious, and the prices are affordable and very reasonable! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We first visited a few years ago when the restaurant was still serving omakase for dinner, and the grilled ox tongue was unforgettable. Perfectly pink in the middle, beautifully charred on the outside, and cooked in their signature custom-built oven. We'd been talking about it ever since. When we saw they'd switched to a set lunch menu, we were excited to revisit our favourite grilled ox tongue. All four of us ordered the ox tongue set. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Three sets arrived, while the fourth didn't. We noticed the chefs had been trying to fix something with the oven for quite some time, but no one came over to explain what had happened or even acknowledge the delay. We were simply left waiting and wondering. By the time the last set finally arrived, the other three of us had almost finished eating. Even worse, that ox tongue was served well done. If the cooking had to be changed because of an issue in the kitchen, the least the restaurant could have done was let us know or ask whether we were happy to wait. Even the first three portions looked nothing like we remembered. We compared them with the photos from our previous visit, and they were nowhere close. The ox tongue used to be beautifully pink in the middle; this time, it was almost completely cooked through, and the texture was completely different. We also ordered the highly recommended slow-cooked deep-fried pork chop, which was described as juicy. Unfortunately, ours was dry. It's a shame because we came back with high expectations after such a memorable meal years ago. Sadly, this visit didn't come close.
