やきとり家 すみれ 北千住店 Smile Yakitori Kitasenju Branch. Located on the second floor (no elevator), it is a bit of a chore climbing up to this establishment but well worth the effort. Delicious yakitori and a broad range of offerings. ひなトロ Hina toro (also called ふりそで furisode) is shoulder meat (where the wing joins the chicken). A specialty of this restaurant. 王様レバー (ousama rebaa) or Emperor Liver served in a rich reduced sauce. ふんわりつくね (funwari tsukune) chicken meat balls made with 大山 Oyama chicken breasts. Very flavorful. Tsukimi (moon viewing) variety is served with a raw egg yoke accompanying the meat ball skewers. A variety of condiments are available including the store's own brand of Yuzu sco (a personal favorite). Of course there are a variety of nihonshu (sake) served. I especially enjoy chilled, dry sake. They serve (free) raw cabbage as a palate cleanser. This is a chain restaurant. Although I have not visited other branches, I would not hesitate to do so.
