1. Terrible Service: The staff were completely glued to their phones and ignored me. Zero hospitality. 2. Poor Ventilation: The kitchen smoke was overwhelming. The entire place smells like heavy grease, very uncomfortable to breathe. 3. Bad Attitude: I only asked about payment options, but the staff was dismissive. I visited Yayoi restaurant at Central Airport Plaza in Chiang Mai for lunch and I was very impressed by the quality and variety of the food. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the mall, near the entrance to the airport. It is a Japanese-style restaurant that offers a range of dishes, such as rice, noodles, curry, sushi, and bento boxes. The menu is in both Thai and English. The food was delicious and fresh, and the portions were generous. I ordered a chicken katsu curry with rice, which came with a salad, miso soup, and pickles. The curry was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was crispy and tender. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the salad was crisp and refreshing. The miso soup was warm and comforting, and the pickles added a nice tangy touch. The meal cost 199 baht ($6), which I thought was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. The service was fast and friendly, and the staff were attentive and helpful. They brought me water and tea as soon as I sat down, and they checked on me regularly to see if I needed anything else. They also cleared my plates quickly and brought me the bill promptly. They thanked me for coming and wished me a good day. The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. The decor was simple and elegant. The music was soft and soothing, and the lighting was bright and cheerful. The restaurant was not too crowded or noisy. I would highly recommend Yayoi restaurant to anyone who is looking for a satisfying and affordable Japanese meal in Chiang Mai. It is a great place to enjoy some tasty food before or after your flight, or to take a break from shopping at the mall.
