そこそこ美味しい日本の焼肉店と同じレベルをシンガポールでも味わう事ができるお店。注文できる部位はその日によって違います。サイドメニューからデザートメニューまで種類が豊富。そしてトイレがめちゃくちゃ綺麗なことにも驚き。. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $100+

My recent experience at Yazawa was unpleasant. Primarily because of their HARD enforcement of 2 seatings. Throughout the years, I visited Yazawa on at least 5 occasions, since the days when Yazawa operated in Robertson Quay. In my recent visit I reserved a 6.30pm timing, however I arrived at 6.42pm due to traffic. It's my bad and I was prepared have a quicker meal than usual. However the strict enforcement of timing has certainly made the meal very pressurizing. First of all, the moment I entered the restaurant was not very welcoming. The receptionist/cashier commented "wah so late". I felt apologetic. After getting seated, immediately ordered all dishes. A chateaubriand cut, a yazawa cold noodle, a beef claypot rice, a kimchi, a high-ball and two ice-cream. For an upscale yakiniku like Yazawa, I believe its fair to expect a staff to cook the chateaubriand cut, but it didn't happen. Upon request, a lady patiently cooked it to perfection, and the beef was very good. The cold noodle was bland, rest of the dishes were good. So next comes the pressure, while enjoying the food, a last order reminder came at 7.30pm sharp. Desserts came on time at 7.45pm. Then at 7.50pm, I could see the receptionist was looking at my table, and hinting to another staff to pay "attention" to our table. By then, I had enough, quickly took the ~S$300 bill to the cashier so that I could return the table to them. Similar review/feedback was provided by another diner, Jong Han Yeo. And seems like the earlier feedback wasn't taken seriously. The beef was undeniably good, but I hope Yazawa will review internally on optimizing table turnaround, and not a mandatory two seatings, which is usually practiced only in high end Omakase restaurants, or CNY reunion dinners.
