I recently dined at 譽麵坊, a classic no-frills Hong Kong-style local eatery, and overall had a pretty good meal. The standout dish was the fried chicken. The chicken was fantastic—super crispy on the outside while staying incredibly tender and juicy inside. It was the highlight of the plate and something I would definitely order again. The thick noodles themselves were a bit disappointing as they lacked flavor and seasoning. They felt somewhat plain despite the tasty chicken on top. I also tried the iced lemon tea. The tea was quite mild and not as robust as I hoped, but it was still refreshing. The drink came with a less than useful wooden stirrer, and I ended up using my chopsticks to pound the lemon slices to extract more flavor. The side of boiled lettuce was fresh and perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, the 南乳醬 that came with the noodles was just overly salty and lacked the rich umami I usually enjoy in this sauce. The environment is typical of neighborhood Hong Kong diners—simple and unpretentious. There were a few flies around, but nothing too bothersome for a quick local meal. All in all, the excellent fried chicken makes 譽麵坊 worth a visit if you're craving something hearty and crispy. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
