If you’re craving authentic European-style sourdough bread in Seoul, Jibell Bakery is a must-visit. Great bread, cozy space, friendly staff, and even a dog-friendly atmosphere—this place has it all. I’ve been searching for good bread in Korea as I’ve been missing the high-quality sourdough bread that’s so common in Europe. I was thrilled to discover Jibell Bakery, and it exceeded my expectations. First of all, the staff made a great impression—they speak fluent English, are very friendly, and open to conversation. The space itself is small but cozy, bright, and even dog-friendly, which adds to its charm. Their menu is short and focused on sourdough, which I appreciate. Before writing this opinion I was really sampling this place few times to be sure that their bread is consistently good. I tried the rye bread, and it was fantastic—dark, dense, and exactly like the bread I’d enjoy in Europe. It was my favorite. I have also tried ciabatta, focaccia, and plain sourdough bread. All of equally high-quality. The biggest compliment I can give is that their bread matches the standard of good European bakeries :) I also sampled coffee and enjoyed it. The staff are true sourdough experts, happy to chat about their process and experiments. Since it’s a new bakery, they’re still innovating, so menu might evolve over time.
