開放的なテラス席がとても心地よく、つい長居してしまうカフェ コーヒーは香り高く、バナナジュースは濃厚でおすすめ。 店内には、センスの良い着物や和の小物も並び、京都らしい雰囲気が楽しめます。 壁のアートもスタイリッシュで、空間づくりにセンスを感じました

A number of months ago, my mom, friends and I visited Japan and went kimono shopping together in Kyoto. After finding multiple shops (and one shop that required taking off our shoes and going up in an elevator in our socks, realizing it was for custom fit kimono’s which was waaayyy outside our price range ), we found this wonderfully unique and charming little shop, Kasane × Sion 京都市。 We came in the evening/night so I had no idea this was a cafe till seeing other reviews and definitely want to revisit one day for the drinks. Highly, highly recommend this shop for their quality service, good, and overall cultural experience with traditional clothing. For a in depth story on my kimono experienced, read below. So we came looking for a kimono for my mom (who already found an obi earlier that day) and I was also helping my friend find souvenirs for her family. The kimonos patterns pictures are all designs I found as I was helping my mom & friend search. *As an important note: I’d already acquired a kimono through a dear friend we met in Japan, I wasn’t looking for a kimono.* Anywho, while I was helping my mom look for a kimono, I stumbled upon the deep teal and floral kimono pattern buried beneath some other kimono’s in the slightly more expensive section (hence why I listed this as ¥10,000 for pricing on my review). I was immediately enamored of the designs/pattern and started taking pictures of the pattern of such a beautiful and elegant kimono. But the more I looked at pattern, the more I fell in love with the garment. For the fun of it, I decided to try it on. When I did—my mom (who at the time was checking out at the register with her kimono), our friends, the older man and young woman working—all stopped in their tracks starred at me, mouths hanging open. My mom stated how beautiful it was, my friend snapped the photos of me in it and I looked in the mirror and blushed from how beautiful it made me feel. After I took it off, I had the audacity to think I wouldn’t buy it because it was expensive. We decided to leave to check out other shops. Not 10 minutes passed and I found myself walking back the shop because I *knew* if I didn’t purchase that kimono, I would regret it. Come to find out, my friend also came back a few minutes after I did and got something she also had been thinking about. And we ended up finding an open shirt robe recycled from a kimono also as a gift for my aunt. Although extremely late, I remember promising the young woman to write a review because we so enjoyed our travels and finds in this shop. Their customer service was lovely and I know they appreciated our business as this was only 3 months after their shop had first opened. I hope my efforts helped in the end!!
