“Obanzai Yururi” A cozy and delicious Japanese izakaya serving oden, obanzai, and home-style small dishes. Run by a friendly Japanese female manager, the atmosphere is warm and comforting. Parking available. A great izakaya open until late at night. The oden broth is outstanding, rich and deeply flavorful. Not only the oden, but all the obanzai dishes are seasoned perfectly — truly delicious. You’ll find yourself saying, “Ahh this is so good,” and instantly feeling relaxed. The food naturally makes you want another drink. It’s such a joy to find a place like this — a true taste of Japan, open late into the night. With an atmosphere like a gathering spot for drink lovers, it feels almost like a Japanese street stall, full of charm and nostalgia. The oden is incredibly delicious, and the obanzai — especially the simmered dishes — are cooked just right, not overdone. You’ll think, “Wow, this is really good.” I got completely hooked on the extra-spicy fried chicken — I wanted it again the very next day. The umami of the chili oil is addictive (seriously!). The balance between the heat and the juicy fried chicken is perfect. If you’re not good with spicy food, you might want to skip this one!
