The food was too expensive. However, the food was all right. I recommend have the first meal on the menu. Because rest of them are a overpriced. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

In an act of desperation to get out of the cold and get something to eat upon arriving in Otaru, we came across the Otaru Denuki-koji cluster of small food outlets as it was nearby our hotel. The whole bunch of restaurants appeared to be charging exorbitant prices. But we tried this place anyway as it was one of the only stores left open. The owner puts on a nice front, but the quality of food we got for 35,000 yen (1 x beef & cheese bowl, 1 x roe rice ball and 1 x Otaru beer) was atrocious. The beef slices were fatty and microwaved, and the portion was tiny. Seriously, the pre-made hot meals at 7eleven is better. If I compare it to the beef rice bowl from Sukiya, that would be 10x better at 1/4 the price. This is a certified tourist scam, just doing my part to let the community know!
