From order to first bite, expect an hour wait. A true test of patience and perseverance. Not for the faint hearted, especially if you’re already hungry. When the food finally arrives, it comes piping hot, which does soften the frustration a little. The crab roll delivers, with crab meat in every mouthful. Clams cooked in chilli and garlic are punchy and absolutely made for white rice. The spinach with roast pork, solid, hearty, something even Popeye would approve. Nothing here is mind blowing, but at the same time, it’s hard to fault the food. It satisfies. Where things fall apart is the operation. You’ve essentially got, one person taking orders. One prepping ingredients. One manning the wok and finally two servers waiting on dishes. There’s a serious bottleneck in the kitchen, and it shows. Dinner for five dishes with rice came up to a princely THB850. Come if you have time to spare and expectations in check. Price per person: ฿400–600 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
