Daruma San made the two evenings at her izakaya some of the most memorable nights in our visits to Japan. The warmth of the hostess, the quality of the food and the fun with the karaoke came together, not once but twice. After our first visit, we promised to visit again after two days and she said she would cook some special local dishes off the menu. We thought she would have forgotten but when we arrived there was a table laid out for 5 and she had cooked the most delicious meal we have had in a while. I can't recommend this izakaya and the owner enough. If you do ever end up in Ishinomaki, put this down as a must-do!
