It is hard to believe that food in a small town could be so good. I live near the culinary haven of Napa, I regularly travel the globe to dine at Michelin-starred restaurants, and I am not easily impressed. マルナカ食堂 (Marunaka Shukodu) is amazing! The dumplings with yozu stand out in my memory, as do the peanut tofu, sashimi, unagi, and perfectly fried and seasoned shrimp balls. The original dishes and the ones readily available elsewhere all impress the palate. After having travelled and dined in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, this is one of the best meals (if not THE best) I have had in Japan. I will return.
