Taitung experiences a lot of rainy days. It was sunny and hot outside during the two times I had the aunt’s porridge. On the first visit, I had a combo that included shrimp, squid, and other foods. The next time, using Google Translate, I requested porridge with only shrimp. The aunt and her brother are charming. Their interest in using a translator app was cute. The brother was also excited to share with me his interest in learning Japanese for singing. It was an endearing experience as a solo traveler. I also appreciated being in the room with the air conditioning. The brother called a taxi for me to the train station, which was appreciated.
