Tricky to find as it is in a side alley between alleys and buildings but the Sour Spicy Broth and combination of 3 selections do not fail the hunt you have to go on to find it . Portions are satisfactory and enough to fill you but not put you in a food coma after lunch. From the beef brisket through to pork belly combined with any of the other selections to add ( Taiwanese Fish Cakes , Bean Curd ) This is one hearty meal that makes you crave it !. So be prepared to have your taste buds bewitched . It's small with dark red interior run by a two front of house staff that is super helpful in pointing out the English version of the menu and making recommendations for what to combine for best taste. Enjoy every bite ! ! I was introduced to this ️ Sour Spicy Noodle dish strangely by my French boss when I first arrived in H.K. way back in 2016.. “One Noodle”, referred by us as simply the “Spicy Noodle” shop is a small business in the Quarry Bay area catering to the working lunch crowd.. But it wasn’t until recently that I learnt more about the dish’s origins.. So, it turns out that this Sour Spicy Noodle is a signature dish of the Yunnan province of China. Known locally there as “Crossing-the-bridge” noodles with a couple of back stories as to the name’s genesis, one can find this rice noodle soup on any street corner. Back to our little shop in Quarry Bay, so it was usually at least a once a week lunch ritual to either dine in or take out from One Noodle.. It’s a humble bowl of rice noodles in a soup made sour by preserved vegetables and flavoured with a minced pork sauce.. you can then add from a selection of over 20 different toppings including pork or beef slices, fish balls, beef balls, innards, you name it.. and tailor the spiciness of the dish to your liking! When COVID happened, One Noodle had to close and pivot to other businesses so it was actually gone for a few years.. But the OG of Quarry Bay’s Sour Spicy Noodle is now back in the hood - same location, same great taste.. Check it out! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
