Such a cool experience and definitely a must visit if you come to Kyoto! The food, atmosphere, and staff were all amazing, and we even received some lovely souvenirs. The sumo wrestlers Kyoyuki and Kyoyamato were absolutely incredible, they kept everyone entertained and engaged the entire time. We also got to learn about the history and background of sumo, including what is not allowed in the sport and how matches are actually won, which made the experience even more interesting. The performances by the maiko and geisha were also beautiful. Watching their movements, behavior, elegance, and artistry in person truly felt like witnessing a masterpiece. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend! Price per person: ¥8,000–9,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Decent signage to find the place but it seems like the only way to get to lvl 5 was through 2 elevators that only fit a few people. Not a big deal but with the show starting there's was a queue to get upstairs. Food wise I thought it was very good. Unlimited drinking and extra orders of snacks-I highly recommend the fried chicken! The atmosphere was amazing, be sure to partake in the roudy cheering! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Kyoto Sumo Club was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Japan. The experience was entertaining, informative, and so much fun from start to finish. The wrestlers were incredibly engaging, and we came away with a genuine appreciation for the history, culture, and skill behind sumo. The demonstrations were fascinating, the humour was perfectly balanced with respect for the sport, and getting the chance to interact with the wrestlers made the whole experience unforgettable. You can tell a lot of thought and passion has gone into creating something that is both authentic and welcoming for visitors. If you're visiting Kyoto and looking for an experience you'll be talking about long after you get home, this is it. We laughed, learned, took far too many photos, and left with huge smiles on our faces. An absolute must-do.
