北野 NANA was easily one of the best izakaya experiences we had in Kobe. The food was amazing across the board — from the tuna to the tempura to the sake, everything felt fresh, high-quality, and thoughtfully prepared. The standout was definitely the self-grilled fresh tiger puffer fish, or fugu. It was such a unique and memorable experience, and the flavor was delicate, fresh, and delicious. Combined with the lively izakaya atmosphere, 北野 NANA is a place I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kobe. More of my Japan photos, lists and reviews are on my site, Bunky Chow.
