がっちり硬く固まったカキ氷。黒糖味が懐かしい美味しさ。カキ氷以外に売っている大学芋（みたいなやつ）が絶品なので、是非カキ氷と一緒にどうぞ。 228事件で亡くなられた画家 陳澄波さんの旧家だそうです。

台湾スイーツのお店。暖かいライチ湯と冷たい氷(少なめ)を頂きました、甘さ控えめで両方美味しかったです。トッピングを15週類ぐらいの中から5〜6つ選びます。甘さや氷の量なども指定できます。 注文順番カードの発行機械からカードを最初に取って、番号を呼ばれるまでに注文票を書きます。注文票はピンクの熱用(焼仙草orライチ湯?)と白い冰用(氷かけ)の2週類があります。 順番になったらカード番号が呼ばれる(機械の上に番号も表示される)ので、注文票をお姉さんに渡します。

Located within the former residence of Chen Cheng-po, one of Taiwan’s most important modern painters, Taiwanese Ice feels less like a trendy dessert destination and more like a place where traditional Taiwanese flavors and local memories are carefully preserved. The sweet potato candy, tapioca pearls, taro balls, and glutinous rice balls are all thoughtfully made, with the candied sweet potato being especially memorable for its nostalgic flavor that many Taiwanese grew up with. The desserts themselves are not designed to impress through extravagance. Instead, they rely on well-made house ingredients and balanced flavors. Every topping reflects care and craftsmanship, while the sweetness remains restrained and consistent. The sweet potato candy is a signature item and well worth trying. What makes this place truly special, however, is not the ice. Chen Cheng-po was one of the most influential figures in Taiwan’s modern art history and a victim of the 228 Incident. To sit in his former home today, enjoying a bowl of ice while looking out onto the streets of Chiayi, is to encounter a place where everyday life and historical memory quietly coexist. The preservation of this house as a public cultural space is itself an important act of remembrance. Spending time in the courtyard, watching the rhythm of the neighborhood unfold, you begin to realize that what is being preserved here is not only traditional dessert culture, but also a deeper sense of place, memory, and identity.
