Doris and Dan created an exceptional above and beyond experience. After combing through Google/reddit/facebook I finally realized that I could use OpenTable to book the restaurant, but it was a bit tricky to hunt down, but very well worth the time! The Taiwanese food pairing (must be requested ahead of time) was very carefully matched with the Sake to best enhance the experience. It seems that the choices were very deliberately tailored with thought and intention (in the best way) to our preferences as well. Each dish was paired wonderfully but to name a few stand outs, a nigiri matched with radish in a soup with alpha 1, to the Taiwanese sausage with Kaze no Moro (very newly released and very delicious!) and cherry duck from with Jikon. The bar setting was intimate and cozy with Jazz music in the background, and felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle outside. Despite our Mandarin being very lacking, both Doris and Dan were able to meet us in the middle with their best efforts to carefully explain not only how to properly drink the sake, but on the details of each sake, and the dishes that they were paired with. Definitely planning to be better equipped with stronger Mandarin for our next visit to better understand and appreciate the already amazing experience. Would also like to mention that although we were able to book this for a Tuesday on open table, they were actually closed (completely my fault in missing this when doing my research) and made significant effort and went above and beyond to open for us. Overall we very very much loved the experience as our favorite moment of our week-long visit to Taiwan. Price per person: NT$2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
