“A hidden gem in Yilan—family-style teppanyaki with heart, flavor, and warmth.” 御饌鐵板燒 isn’t the flashiest restaurant, but that’s what makes it special. This family-owned spot offers something more important than glitz: genuine hospitality and food cooked with care. The cook is friendly and courteous, and the server is so kind and happy to serve—it really makes you feel welcome. They start you off with seaweed soup and perfectly cooked white rice, plus self-serve tea, which sets a comfortable, homey tone. I especially loved the fresh cabbage and bean sprouts—stir-fried creamy, simple, and delicious. For my meal, I had the honey chicken with pineapple (crispy outside, tender inside, with a touch of mild spice that was just right). The oysters were fresh, the scallops perfectly pan-fried, and the prawns had a lovely succulent flavor. Even the fish was pan-seared beautifully—every bite was satisfying. Some reviews mention price, but I find it fair for a mom-and-pop restaurant where quality and freshness are prioritized. The portions are generous, the seafood tasted well-preserved, and the experience felt worth every dollar. I am from California(USA), and the price for this experience in the USA would be more expensive. As for comments about food not being cooked or mismatched pictures—my experience was the complete opposite. Everything was served exactly as described, cooked through, and tasted wonderful. This isn’t a rushed, high-volume chain; it’s a place where you go to slow down, enjoy your food, and take in the simple atmosphere. For me, this is now my favorite teppanyaki restaurant in Yilan, and I’ll happily return again.
