We had our family gathering once a year, as my wife and I live overseas, so it was a special occasion for us. 柒號洋樓 didn’t disappoint. Roger and Jerry welcomed us at the door and took us to a beautifully decorated private room. The service was warm, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. We went with the set menu, and even my father in law and wife — who can be picky — really enjoyed the food. The appetizers were fresh and full of flavor, especially the pickled pumpkin 南瓜, jellyfish with celery 海蜇皮, and shredded beancurd with pork 干絲. Everything felt light and well-balanced. The prawn lettuce wraps 蝦鬆 were a favorite with both kids and adults — crunchy, fun to eat, and not too heavy. The pork knuckle with bamboo shoots 虎掌春筍 was incredibly tender, and the bamboo shoots were sweet and in season. The crispy chicken, served with three kinds of sauce, was also a highlight. My father in law loved the fish with tofu 豆腐燒黃魚 — juicy and flavorful. My wife especially enjoyed the black chicken soup 烏骨雞湯 — rich and comforting without being overpowering. My mother in law’s favorite was the sesame ball — soft, not too sweet, and even the kids enjoyed it. The fruit at the end was just what you’d hope for in Taiwan — fresh, sweet, and juicy. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The food was excellent, the space was beautiful, and the service made it all the more memorable. Huge thanks to Roger, Jerry, and the entire team for making us feel so welcome — we’d gladly recommend both 柒號洋樓 to anyone looking for a thoughtful and well-rounded experience.
