道路で感じの良いおじいさんキャッチに捕まりました。（笑） まぁまぁの味。紅酢をかけて食べると何でも美味しいです。 大声で話をする人がいたので、うるさくてすぐ出ました。それ以外は普通かな。 安いですよ。. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–50

Nice wontons. The size is kind of in between the large ones you get at Tsim Chai Kee and Mak’s noodles. Good prawn flavour. The broth has that wonderful flavour imparted by dried flounder fish powder. That “secret” ingredient is what largely distinguishes wonton noodles in Hong Kong and elsewhere in the west, but even then I’ve found the concentration of dried flounder fish flavour can vary between wonton noodles restaurants. In some places it can be so light that you wonder whether it is just pork bone and chicken broth. It was good to find dried flounder fish flavour in the broth at Sham Tsai Kee. The noodles were suitably “al dente”. That is a texture in soup noodles that I’ve only been able to find in Hong Kong. Not being familiar with Sham Tsai Kee, I noticed a reprint of an old newspaper article proudly enlarged and hanging on the wall listing the top 10 wonton noodle restaurants in HK, Sham Tsai Kee was one of them. The waitress told me that the Tsim Sha Tsui branch is about 10 years old. The original was started by the boss about 40+ years ago in Yau Ma Tei. This would be my goto wonton noodles restaurant when in Tsim Sha Tsui. Price per person: HK$50–100 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian options: No Dietary restrictions: Although it is a mainly wonton noodles place, there are other things on the menu, like fishballs, pork trotters and beef brisket.
