Opened since 1964, 珠江酒家 in Sham Shui Po is one of the oldest restaurants in Hong Kong. The restaurant has two floors, no fancy decor, but you can see old signs from the 60s or 70s like "no spitting on the floor". 炸乳鴿 Deep-fried Pigeon $68 Pipping hot, juicy meat, crispy skin, but a bit too salty. 潮州蠔仔粥 Oyster Congee $118 Huge pot of Chiu Chau style congee with lots of oysters, pickled radish, minced pork, spring onions and coriander. Again too much MSG. 水煮牛肉 Sichuan Style Beef Thought it would be a bowl of spicy broth but it was served on a plate. Best dish of the night. Strong mala flavor, very tender big pieces of marinated beef. Make sure to order in advance if you're in a hurry because it might take a long time to wait if they're busy. What does it say? It means they cook by order which is awesome!
